posted on by Egan Loo
Yamamoto also wrote, directed on Haruhi & directed episodes of Air, Kanon

The Otakon convention has announced that director Yutaka Yamamoto will appear as a Guest of Honor at the July 17-19 event in Baltimore, Maryland. Yamamoto oversaw Kyoto Animation's production of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya television anime series during its initial 2006 run. He also wrote four episodes, directed the first episode and 12th one (best known for its live concert scene), and oversaw the original ending animation.

From there, Yamamoto directed the Lucky Star anime for the first four episodes. Soon after, he established his own studio, Ordet. After storyboarding or directing episodes for several series such as Sketchbook ~full color'S~ and Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan Second, Yamamoto landed his most prominent gig when he became the overall director of Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens.

Earlier in his career, Yamamoto storyboarded and directed episodes of such projects as Air, the second Kanon television anime, and Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu Final.
