Crunchyroll Indicates Plans to Simulcast Aoi Hana

posted on by Egan Loo

A page on the Crunchyroll media distribution company's website is listing a scheduled Wednesday simulcast for the Aoi Hana (Sweet Blue Flowers) anime series at 3:00 p.m. EDT. Crunchyroll has not yet officially announced that it will stream this new television adaptation of Takako Shimura's yuri manga.

In the original Aoi Hana manga's story, Fumi and Akira were close childhood friends until Fumi had to move away. Ten years after losing touch with each other, the two girls meet again as high school freshmen. The two struggle to reconnect after so much has changed, and both deal with the trials and tribulations of high school — sometimes independently and sometimes with each other's help.

Kenichi Kasai (Honey and Clover, Kimikiss pure rouge, Nodame Cantabile) is directing the Aoi Hana anime series, and Fumihiko Takayama (Gunparade March, Orguss 02, Yomigaeru Sora - RESCUE WINGS -) is supervising the scripts. Masayuki Onchi (Cromartie High School , Daa! Daa! Daa!, Mirmo Zibang!) is designing the characters. The manga has been running in Ohta Books' Manga Erotics F magazine since 2004, and four volumes have been compiled and published.

Crunchyroll did announce last week that it is streaming Marvelous Entertainment and Artland's Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku wo - Yōkoso Tsugumi Ryōhe anime. The 13-episode television series adapted Giga's Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku wo adult adventure game in 2007. The story centers on a boy, five girls, and a teacher who live at a school dormitory on an isolated island. The boy, Wataru, tries to get to know the new female transfer student Rinna, even though the school faces closure due to the island's evacuation in one year.
