Newtype Posts Correction on Gundam Unicorn's Release

posted on by Egan Loo

The Japanese publisher Kadokawa has posted a correction for an article that mentioned the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn anime project in the September issue of Newtype magazine on August 10. The article about the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Perfect Guide book said that the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn novels "also have a TV anime adaptation green-lit." According to Kadokawa, the corrected sentence should have said that the novels "also have an anime adaptation green-lit."

The upcoming anime adapts Harutoshi Fukui's Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn novels, which are set in the same Universal Century (UC) timeline as the first Mobile Suit Gundam science-fiction television anime series and its sequels. The Sunrise anime studio itself had not specified the release format of the project, and Bandai President and CEO Kazunori Ueno said in April that "there are no plans to broadcast [another Gundam] television series in 2009." Odaiba Walker, a special issue of the Tokyo Walker lifestyle magazine, had to issue a similar correction about Gundam Unicorn after its July 17 release.
