One of three main proponents of alternative gekiga movement at Garo mag

The Amazon online retailer lists the English release of Ōji Suzuki's Red Kimono manga from Drawn and Quarterly on March 16, 2010. Suzuki was among the "1-2-3" pioneers of the alternative gekiga storytelling movement at Garo magazine with Shin'ichi Abe (Aihasu no Kazoku) and Mandarake store chain founder Masuzou Furukawa during 1970s and 1980s. (When combined, the second syllables of these creators' given names spell out "One, Two, Three" in Japanese.) The manga was published in Japan by Seirindo in 1985, and Seuil published a French version (pictured at right) in 2007.
