Firm Uses Gundam Model-Making to Test Job Applicants

Applicants assemble, paint Char's Zaku II model within three hours

Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: The Tokyo-based artificial teeth maker Bitec Global Japan has introduced Gundam model-making into its job application tests for this year's new college graduates. As part of the group interviews this October, applicants assemble and paint the plastic model kit of Char's Zaku II robotic mecha from the Mobile Suit Gundam anime within three hours. The firm makes the Comfort brand of artificial teeth, which are implanted into soft silicone as cushioning for the patient's mouth.

During the job interviews, a group of three to five applicants assemble the model and paint it in three or more colors. This year's job application tests will start on October 7.
