Crunchyroll Gets Sora no Otoshimono, Book of Bantorra (Update 2)

Sora no Otoshimono to simulcast this Monday; Book of Bantorra starts Friday

The Crunchyroll media-distribution website has announced that it will begin simulcasting Kadokawa Pictures and AIC A.S.T.A.'s  Sora no Otoshimono fantasy television anime series on Monday, October 5 at 8:00 a.m. PDT. The website has also announced that it will begin simulcasting Shueisha and david production's Tatakau Shisho - The Book of Bantorra on this Friday at 7:30 a.m.

The Sora no Otoshimono anime adapts Suu Minazuki's manga about Tomoki Sakurai (Souichiro Hoshi), an ordinary middle school boy whose motto is "Peace is the #1 priority." However, a strange girl often appears in his dream to ask for his help — only he cannot remember her face when he wakes up. Then, his life gets more complicated when an unidentified mysterious animal (UMA) falls out of the skies. The "animal" turns out to be Ikaros (Saori Hayami), an angel. Crunchyroll's video streams will be available in the United States, Canada, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the United Arab Emirates. Crunchyroll's subscribed Anime Members can see each episode, in 480-line progressive resolution, within 24 hour of its Japanese premiere. Other users can see the same episode in standard definition one week later.

In Ishio Yamagata's original Tatakau Shisho series of light novels, all the dead people of the world have been turned into "books" stored in the Bantorra library. A boy named Colio (Miyu Irino) has had his memories erased and his chest embedded with a bomb. He is sent to kill Hamutz Meseta (Romi Paku), the world's most powerful armed librarian. However, he falls in love at first sight with this beautiful woman in charge of the "books," and he gets enveloped in the great war over the library. Crunchyroll's video streams will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Brazil, and Portugal. Like with Sora no Otoshimono, Crunchyroll's subscribed Anime Members can see each Tatakau Shisho episode, in 480-line progressive resolution, within 24 hour of its Japanese premiere. Other users can see the same episode in standard definition one week later.

AnimeOnDVD forum user ChibiGoku noted that Crunchyroll's online list of simulcasts included these two titles and three more — Fairy Tail, Miracle Train - Ōedo-sen e Yōkoso , and Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Purezza — earlier on Thursday morning. Those other three titles have since been removed from the list. Crunchyroll has not yet responded to ANN's request for comment on these titles.
