Close the Last Door's Yugi Yamada Re-launches Manga

posted on by Evan Miller
Mahoro Ekimae Tada Benrikan comes back to life in Hakusensha's Monthly Melody

Yugi Yamada, the creator behind the boys love titles Close the Last Door and Laugh Under the Sun, will be re-starting her manga based on the Shion Miura novel Mahoro Ekimae Tada Benrikan (lit. Tada, the Handyman near Mahoro Station). The story in the novel focuses on the friendship between a repairman named Tada and a long lost friend from his high school days, who end up bonding after both men discover that the other has been through a divorce since they last saw one another.

The manga is scheduled to re-start in the February 2010 issue of Hakusensha's monthly manga magazine Melody. The magazine is home to another boys love artist who has since crossed over into mainstream manga: Fumi Yoshinaga (Antique Bakery), whose critically acclaimed Ōoku is currently serialized in the magazine. The manga previously appeared in the manga magazine Pianissimo (pictured), which is currently not producing new issues. The February issue of Melody goes on sale on December 28.
