Japan's Animation Blu-ray Disc Ranking, December 7-13

Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea film sold 9,000 standard edition Blu-ray Discs to top Oricon's anime Blu-ray Disc chart for the week of December 7-13 in Japan. The Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea Blu-ray Disc Special Keepsake Edition (pictured at right) also debuted on the same chart at #2.
Rookies ~Sotsugyō-, the live-action film feature based on Masanori Morita's Rookies baseball manga, dropped from #2 to #5 in its second week on SoundScan Japan's chart for all Blu-ray Discs. The Macross Frontier Galaxy Tour Final in Budōkan concert disc also fell from #6 to #11 in its third week. The Blu-ray Disc for the JAM Project Hurricane Tour 2009 GATE of the Future concerts debuted at #15.
