Slayers Revolution's 1st 4 Dubbed Episodes Streamed (Updated)

1st reunion of most of original English dub cast in a decade; DVD set ships in March

The North American anime distributor Funimation has begun streaming the first four English-dubbed episodes of the Slayers Revolution anime sequel series on the YouTube website on Thursday.

The dubbing features the first reunion of most of the original English cast of Slayers in a decade. Funimation's own website and YouTube have both been streaming all 13 English-subtitled episodes of this fourth Slayer television series as well. Funimation will ship the DVD collection of the series on March 16.

Like the previous Slayers projects, Slayers Revolution follows the comic misadventures of the sorceress Lina Inverse (Megumi Hayashibara) and the swordsman Gourry Gabriev (Yasunori Matsumoto) in a fantasy land. Several other familiar characters in the franchise make appearances during the series, and Takashi Watanabe (Boogiepop Phantom, Ikki Tousen, Lost Universe) directed all the Slayers television series so far. The 13 Slayers Revolution episodes aired in Japan from July to September of 2008. The first three Slayers television series were previously licensed by Central Park Media, and then FUNimation picked up their licenses in 2005.
