SD Gundam Sangokuden April TV Anime Listed by Retailer

The Hobby Net retail website reports in a January 22 update that a television anime adaptation of Bandai's SD Gundam Sangokuden plastic model line has been green-lit for this April. However, neither Bandai nor the anime studio Sunrise has announced a new SD Gundam Sangokuden anime project besides the Chō Denei-ban SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors film, which will open in Japan on February 27.
The SD Gundam Sangokuden model series features the heroes of the Chinese literary classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms — only they have been re-imagined as two-head-high Super Deformed Gundam robots. Liu Bei (Ryū Bi) Gundam, Guan Yu (Kan U) Gundam, and Zhang Fei (Chō Hi) Gundam protect the legendary continent Mirisha from General Dong Zhuo (Tō Taku) Zaku, the assassin Hu Zhen (Ko Shin) Gyan, and other enemies.
A manga called BB Senshi Sangokuden ~Senshin Kettō-hen~ has been running in Kadokawa Shoten's Kerokero Ace magazine. Hobby Net lists 14 new SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors model kits which will be released between February and May.
