Japanese Box Office, January 30-31

Nodame Cantabile at #10, Yu-Gi-Oh! falls from charts

Nodame Cantabile Saishū Gakushō Zen-Pen (Nodame Cantabile: The Final Score Part I), the first film in a two-part theatrical finale inspired by Tomoko Ninomiya's Nodame Cantabile musical romance manga, fell from #7 to #10 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's box office chart during the January 30-31 weekend, its seventh weekend in theaters. (It did not place in the top 10 on Variety and Rentrak Theatrical's chart).

Yu-Gi-Oh! Movie: Super Fusion! Bonds that Transcend Time (Gekijō-ban Yu-Gi-Oh! ~Chō-Yūgō! Jikū o Koeta Kizuna), the film celebrating the 10th anniversary of the popular franchise, fell off the charts after debuting at #6 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's Japanese box office chart during the January 23-24 weekend.

Samurai Sentai Shinkenger vs. Go-onger Ginmaku Bang!, a film featuring a crossover between two Super Sentai live-action special-effect series (Samurai Sentai Shinkenger and Engine Sentai Go-onger), debuted at #5 during the January 30-31 weekend. According to Rentrak Theatrical, the film earned US$1,659,338 on 140 screens.

James Cameron's Avatar science-fiction action movie stayed at #1 for the sixth straight weekend, earning a weekend box office take of US$6,846,505 and a total-to-date of US$91,978,188.
