Shiki, Yojō-Han Shinwa Taikei, Working Promos Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo
3 late-night TV anime to air in July, April, March, respectively

The official website for the Shiki television anime series is now streaming a 84-second promotional video. The video first premiered during Sunday's press conference for Fuji TV's late-night Noitamina lineup in 2010. The anime adapts Fuyumi Ono and Ryū Fujisaki's Shiki horror mystery manga about an isolated mountain village, steeped in ancient traditions, whose population of 1,300 starts dying in droves due to mysterious causes. Eventually, it becomes clear that vampires are attacking the town. Ono had previously written the original novels for The Twelve Kingdoms and Ghost Hunt, while Fujisaki is best known for drawing the Hoshin Engi/Soul Hunter manga. The 22-episode anime will premiere in July with entertainment figure Gackt in the role of Seishirō Kirishiki.

The website for another Noitamina anime, Yojō-Han Shinwa Taikei, is streaming an 84-second promotional video. Like Shiki's video, this video also premiered during Sunday's press conference. Tomihiko Morimi's original Yojō-Han Shinwa Taikei novel follows a nameless protagonist who is a third-year college student. The protagnoist looks back at the earlier years of his college life and his adventures with a particular circle (club). Masaaki Yuasa (Kaiba, Mind Game, Kemonozume) will direct for the Madhouse anime studio, while Makoto Ueda (Summer Time Machine Blues, Fujiko F. Fujio's Parallel Space) will write and supervise the series' scripts. The series will premiere on April 15.

The website for the television anime adaptation of Karino Takatsu's Working!! four-panel manga has posted a 14-second television commercial and a 32-second Satō "character trailer" on Friday. The previous Comic Market promotional video and character trailers are still available. In the story, a high school freshman named Sōta Takanashi (Jun Fukuyama) works part-time among the restaurant's high-spirited, eccentric, yet cool staffers. Yoshimasa Hiraike (Kaleido Star, Sketchbook ~full color'S~, Solty Rei) is directing the anime version, and Shingo Adachi (Megaman Star Force, Rockman.EXE Beast+) is designing the characters and overseeing the animation at A-1 Pictures Inc. The television anime will officially premiere this April, although the first episode will receive an advance airing on March 6.
