Mardock Scramble, Tegami Bachi Season 2 Videos Posted

posted on by Egan Loo

The official website for the revived anime adaptation of Tow Ubukata's Mardock Scramble science fiction novel series has begun streaming a two-minute promotional video on Saturday. The first of three films, Mardock Scramble: The First Compression, will open in Japan this fall. Megumi Hayashibara will play the main character Rune Ballot, and Susumu Kudo is directing the films at the GoHands anime studio with character designer Shingo Suzuki. The project was originally planned in 2005 as an original video anime series with the Gonzo anime studio, director Yasufumi Soejima, and character designer Range Murata, but that earlier version was cancelled in 2006. Murata described the story to ANN: "The main character is a girl, and her body is burned by the bad guy, and she dies, but then she's resurrected. So she's out for revenge."

The TV Tokyo station is streaming a 30-second promotional video for the second television anime season based on Hiroyuki Asada's Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee manga. Asada had revealed last month that the second season is slated to launch this fall, and the 25th and final episode of the first season just aired on Saturday. The original manga follows a boy who runs deliveries as a "Letter Bee" messenger throughout a strange fantasy land. The Crunchyroll website has been simulcasting the first season since it premiered in October, and Viz Media is publishing the original manga.
