Japan's Animation Blu-ray Disc Ranking, May 31-June 6

Eva:2.22, 1.11 rank #1, #2; Kamichu!, Katanagatari, Nodame debut in top 10

Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha) sold 39,000 more copies in its second week of sales in Japan to rank #1 on Oricon's weekly Blu-ray Disc sales chart for the May 31-June 6 week. In addition, the first film in the remake, Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo) sold 7,000 more copies to rank #2. This is the first time that any anime franchise has taken the top two spots on the chart. Both films topped the same chart during their respective first official weeks of sales.

The special edition of Nodame Cantabile Saishū Gakushō Zenpen (Nodame Cantabile: The Final Movement Part I), the first of two live-action movies based on Tomoko Ninomiya's Nodame Cantabile romantic comedy manga, debuted at #6 on SoundScan Japan's weekly Blu-ray Disc chart.
