1-2 extra episodes listed on each of 4 Blu-ray volumes for TV anime

Starchild Records' official website for the Yosuga no Sora television anime series lists extra episodes on the anime's upcoming Blu-ray Disc releases in Japan. The first of four DVD volumes is listed as having episodes 1-3, but the first Blu-ray volume lists four episodes instead.

Similarly, the second DVD volume lists episodes 4-6, but the second Blu-ray volume lists four episodes. The third DVD volume lists episodes 7-9, but the third Blu-ray volume also lists four episodes.

The fourth and final DVD volume lists episodes 10-12, but the fourth standard-edition Blu-ray volume lists four episodes. In addition, the fourth limited-edition Blu-ray volume lists five episodes.

The first DVD/Blu-ray volume will ship on December 22. The second and third DVD/Blu-ray volumes will ship on January 26 and February 23 of next year, respectively. The fourth DVD volume and fourth limited-edition Blu-ray volume will ship on March 23, but the standard-edition Blu-ray volume will ship on April 6.

The first and third Blu-ray volumes will each include a bonus "Soine" ("Sleeping Together") CD, while the other two Blu-ray volumes will each include a soundtrack CD. The fourth limited-edition Blu-ray volume will also add a plush figure, while both the limited and standard editions of the fourth volume will bundle a box for the entire series.

The Yosuga no Sora television anime, which premiered in Japan on Monday, adapts Sphere's adult bishōjo computer game of the same name. The story is set in the distant mountain village of Okukozome-chō. Haruka Kazugano and his twin sister Sora have fond childhood memories of going to the village to visit their grandfather during their summer vacations. However, after losing their parents in an accident, the two must move in with their grandfather. All seems peaceful and familiar. However, beneath the surface is a secret promise that the twins made with each other long ago, the whereabouts of an important lost item, and the real reason they chose to come back here.

Update: The official website for the anime confirmed this week that the Blu-ray release will have a different episode order from the DVD release, but it also revealed that some episodes will be included on more than one Blu-ray volume.

The first Blu-ray volume will contain the first four broadcasted episodes. However, it will have two versions of episode 2 — the "BGM (background music) Kazuha Migiwa Ver." and the "O.A (On Air) Ver."

The second Blu-ray volume will contain the first, second, fifth, and sixth broadcasted episodes. However, it will have two versions of episode 2 — the "BGM Akira Amatsume Ver." and the "O.A Ver."

The third Blu-ray volume will contain the first broadcasted episode and "three other episodes." The limited and standard editions of the fourth Blu-ray volume will each contain the first broadcasted episode and four other episodes.

The four DVD volumes will each contain three episodes in broadcast order, for a total of 12 episodes.
