Blue Exorcist TV Anime's 1st Promo Video Streamed

The official website of A-1 Pictures' Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist) television anime series began streaming the anime's first promotional video on Saturday. The website also confirmed the voice cast who were; producer Hiro Maruyama noted that the cast was announced earlier in the day at the Jump Festa 2011 event:

Tensai Okamura (Darker than Black, Wolf's Rain, Kikaider) is directing off scripts supervised by Ryota Yamaguchi (Cutey Honey Flash, Digimon: Data Squad, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars). Keigo Sasaki (Senkō no Night Raid) is designing the characters, and Hiroyuki Sawano (Mobile Suit Gundam UC, Sengoku Basara, Zombie-Loan) is composing the music.

Starting in April, MBS, TBS, and their network affiliates nationwide will air the series at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.

The anime adapts Kazue Katō's Blue Exorcist manga about Rin Okumura, a boy raised by a famous exorcist named Father Fujimoto. After an argument between the two, Rin discovers he is the son of Satan. Rin decides to fight his fate by joining the True Cross Academy to become an exorcist and defeat demons. However, when he draws his father's sword, it releases a dark power within him.

Katō launched the manga in Jump Square in April of 2009, and the fifth compiled book volume shipped this month. Viz Media will publish the first book volume of the manga in North America next April.
