DMI adds Mizuki by Wedding Peach's Yazawa; Viz adds more iPad titles; Tokyopop on PSP

Digital Manga, Inc. (DMI) released Mizuki, the previously announced new manga by Wedding Peach creator Nao Yazawa. The manga is currently available exclusively on the company's eManga.com site with a price of 250 points. (500 points costs US$5.50.) The story revolves around a young girl who wishes to lead a normal human life, despite being born to a family of devils.

Viz Media announced last week that it added more titles to the iPad store it launched last month. The new titles are Vampire Knight, Ouran High School Host Club, Otomen, and Rurouni Kenshin; the first three series are licensed from Japanese publisher Hakusensha, while Rurouni Kenshin is published in Japan by Viz co-owner Shueisha. Viz announced at the app's launch that these titles would eventually be added to the app, along with Bakuman. and D.Gray-man. No app for the iPhone or iPod touch devices has been released at this time, despite Viz Senior Vice President Alvin Lu's hint that such apps are a possibility.

Sony's PlayStation Store also announced that it established a partnership with Tokyopop to release Hetalia - Axis Powers and several of the company's original English-language titles on PlayStation Portable (PSP) game systems. The titles are available by chapters (about 20-30 pages) and cost US$0.99 per chapter. The titles available are:

  • Hetalia - Axis Powers chapters 1-6
  • Ghostbusters: The Manga chapters 1-6
  • I Luv Halloween chapters 1-7
  • Legends of the Dark Crystal chapter 1
  • Star Trek: The Manga chapters 1-7
  • The Dreaming chapters 1-8
