Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas Gaiden Manga Runs in May

This year's 18th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine is announcing on Thursday that Masami Kurumada and Shiori Teshirogi will launch a new spinoff series called Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas - Meiō Shinwa Gaiden in the 25th issue on May 19. Kurumada and Teshirogi are ending the main Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas - Meiō Shinwa manga series in the 18th issue after a run of nearly five years.
The Lost Canvas - Meiō Shinwa's main storyline is set two and a half centuries before the first Saint Seiya storyline. It focuses on the friendship of Tenma and Alone — the previous incarnations of the characters Pegasus Seiya and Hades who would become mortal enemies in the original Saint Seiya. According to the new advertisement, the story for the Gaiden spinoff will continue to tell the "golden legend of the 12 Gold Saints."
