Yoshimatsu has worked as a key animator or animation director on numerous titles, including Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Black Cat. He also designed the characters in both the Trigun television series and the Trigun: Badlands Rumble film, several Slayers and Future GPX Cyber Formula projects, Les Misérables - Shōjo Cosette, Basquash!, The Super Milk-chan Show, Kiba, Desert Punk, Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars, the Ninja Scroll television series, and the two Jubei-chan - Secret of the Lovely Eyepatch television series.

Yoshimatsu will make his directorial debut with Gonzo's television anime Nyanpire The Animation. Yoshimatsu also creates manga using the pen name "Something Yoshimatsu" (Samushingu Yoshimatsu).

Yoshimatsu will participate in panels and an autograph session at the convention.

FanimeCon will also host voice actor and singer Yūya Matsushita, Petit Evangelion designer Ryusuke Hamamoto, Fullmetal Alchemist/Gundam 00 director Seiji Mizushima, and Japanese pop band Flow.

Yoshimatsu previously appeared at the Seattle event Sakura-Con in 2010 in order to promote the Trigun: Badlands Rumble film, which premiered at the convention.
