Japanese Theater Chain to Show Hōkago no Pleiades Video

Exclusive original footage used to remind movie-goers of manners during films

The United Cinemas chain of Japanese movie theaters announced that it is collaborating with Subaru and Gainax to show a "manner movie" based on the Hōkago no Pleiades anime from June 4 to July 1.

Japanese theaters show manner movies, similar to the reminder videos in other countries, before the main features to remind people to turn off the mobile phones, to avoid talking, and to maintain a pleasant viewing experience for others in the theater. The new manner movie will show original footage that can only be seen in this theater chain.

United Cinemas will sell a limited Hōkago no Pleiades set with a small cup of soft drink and one of six different Hōkago no Pleiades original clear film-style bookmarks during the time that the manner movie is running. Also during the manner movie's run, original Hōkago no Pleiades goods — six clear files, an eight-card postcard set, a notebook, a tumbler, and 20 pin badges — will be sold first at the theaters. Finally, United Cinemas' Toyosu theater will have a Hōkago no Pleiades cafe with Subaru Strawberry Milk Tea and Subaru Blue drinks, each of which will come with one of six different original Hōkago no Pleiades coasters as a present.

The anime originated as four anime shorts that debuted on the YouTube website in January to promote Subaru cars.
