posted on by Daryl Bunao

Vocaloid songwriter Onyx Kobayashi, ASCII Weekly Magazine Chief Executive Editor Toshihiro Fukuoka, and J-pop dance group Danceroid will all be attending Anime Expo as Guests of Honor during the July 1-4 event in Los Angeles.

Kobayashi is best known for illustrating, writing and composing the hit Hatsune Miku single "Saihate," which has reached over 2 million views through Japanese video sharing site Nico Nico Douga. He will be participating in a meet-and-greet/autograph panel, as well as a focus panel dedicated to talking about his work as a composer and illustrator.

In addition to the ASCII Weekly Magazine, Fukuoka is an active editor and writer of popular Japanese anime trend and events for Tokyo Kawaii Magazine, a digital magazine for the iPhone app market. He also currently collaborates with fellow Anime Expo guest of honor Danny Choo in writing the World Otaku Report.

The 5-girl Japanese dance group Danceroid consists of members I-Ku-Ra, Kozue Aikawa, MAAM, COCO, and Yuzuk. Previously known for their individual dance routines uploaded onto Nico Nico Douga, Danceroid officially came together in 2009. I-Ku-Ra and Kozue will dance at Anime Expo as a part of one of the Vocaloid panels.

Together, they join previously announced guests of honor Crypton CEO Hiroyuki Itōh, Crypton producer Wataru Sasak, Idea Factory's Kenta Sugano and Katsuyuki Hirano, singer Maon Kurosaki, manga creator Izumi Matsumoto, comic creator Fred Gallagher, virtual pop idol Hatsune Miku, Japanese pop trio Kalafina, president of Nippon Ichi Software Sohei Niikawa, television host/blogger Danny Choo, voice actor Vic Mignogna, and Japanese voice actress and singer Miyuki Sawashiro.
