Four New Series Starting Next Week From Anime on Demand

posted on by Andrew Osmond

Anime on Demand has announced that it will be beginning four new series over the next week: Dantalian, Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise, R-15 and A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives. According to AoD's twitter feed, it will be streaming the series - all of which began broadcasting this month - with "rapid catch-up," after which the episodes will be shown without any one week delays from the Japanese broadcast.

Dantalian (Dantalian no Shoka), also known as The Mystic Archives of Dantalian, is a Gainax series set in 1920s London, based on the light novels by Gakuto Mikumo. In this story, a young man named Huey (Daisuke Ono) inherits a mansion, only to meet a girl named Dalian (Miyuki Sawashiro) who handles the mansion's archives of forbidden, and dangerous, books.

In Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise, little girls transform into crime fighters with magic powers. The voice cast includes Mamiko Noto (Shinji Kazama in Full Metal Panic!) as Aoi Kannazuki, alias Blue Angel, and Rie Kugimiya (Alphonse in Fullmetal Alchemist) as Kurumi Hazuki, alias White Angel. Yoshiaki Iwasaki (Love Hina, Hayate the Combat Butler) is directing.

R-15 (pictured below right) centres around Taketo Akutagawa, a male student with a secret: he is a talented pornographic novelist. He enrolls in a school that only accepts geniuses, and risque trouble ensues. Munenori Nawa (D.C.S.S. ~Da Capo Second Season~, Kiss×sis, Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu) directs at the studio AIC. The series is based on a light novel series by Hiroyuki Fushimi and Takuya Fujima.

A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives (pictured left) involves a college freshman, Kurogane Taito, and a vampire girl, Saitohimea, whose relationship turns out to be predestined. The anime adapts Takaya Kagami's light novel series.
