Top Selling Anime Films in U.K. 2011

Spirited Away and Ponyo top list.
Manga U.K has posted the top-selling anime film titles in 2011 on its facebook page. The titles were:
2. Ponyo
3. Akira Blu-ray
4. Origin: Spirits of the Past
6. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
8. Evangelion 2.22: You (Can) Not Advance
Commenting on the list, Manga said, "Akira is a brand new Blu-ray release, but the film itself is 22 years old! It's, so it is not actually a "Brand new" film in its own right. Evangelion 2.22 is the only new film released in 2011 and even then it is a rehash of the Neon Genesis Evangelion series. Ha! So now do you see how hard it is to launch a brand new anime film in the UK that isn't an anime classic or got Studio Ghibli stamped all over it?"
