posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Site to also stream 2nd seasons of Fate/Zero, Recorder and Randsell

The media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will stream the Space Brothers (Uchū Kyōdai) television anime series as it airs. The company will stream the series in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Brazil, and Portugal starting on March 31 at 11:00 p.m. EDT.

The anime adaptation of Chūya Koyama's Space Brothers (Uchū Kyōdai) manga follows the story of two brothers, Mutta and Hibito, who made a vow as kids to travel to space. The younger brother Hibito did become an astronaut, but not Mutta. However, Mutta's life changes one fateful day.

Ayumu Watanabe, director and animation director for various Doraemon anime films, will serve as the series' director. The main cast will include Hiroaki Hirata as Mutta Nanba, KENN as Hibito Nanba, Masako Ikeda as Sharon, and Miyuki Sawashiro as Serika Itō. A separate live-action film adaptation starring Shun Oguri and Masaki Okada will open in Japan on May 5. The show's official website began streaming a promotional video for the series earlier this month.

Crunchyroll also revealed its continuing lineup for the spring season on Wednesday, which includes the second season of the Recorder and Randsell television anime series, titled Recorder and Randsell Re, and the continuation of Fate/Zero. The site also will continue to stream the following series: Bodacious Space Pirates, Fairy Tail, Hunter x Hunter, Naruto Shippūden, Sket Dance, Poyopoyo, and The Knight in the Area.

Update: Background information and information on Crunchyroll's continuing series added.

Update 2: Press release link added.
