009 Re:Cyborg, the latest film adaptation of Shōtarō Ishinomori's classic science fiction manga Cyborg 009 received two new trailers this week. The 3d animated film recieved both a live-action trailer and a international trailer. The film is being scripted and directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East, Blood: The Last Vampire) and is his first full-3D animation which is co-produced by Production I.G and SANZIGEN Animation Studio. The film will be released in Japan on the 27th of October by distributor T-Joy.
Pokémon: Black and White Version 2 has more information released in the June issue of Corocoro Comics magazine. Several previous gym leaders will be returning to compete in the Pokémon World Tournament including Kanto Gym Leader Takeshi (Brock) and Kanto Champion Green (Blue) among others. This is alongside returning Black and White characters Cheren, Bianca and N.
It has been announced in the June issue of Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara magazine that the The K-ON! manga's second run will finish in June (*phew*). To clarify, the version that is finishing is the four-panel comedy manga with Yui and the other characters in college. The creator will continue to write the separate K-ON! manga with the characters still in high school.
A collaboration between producer Greg Penny (who produced albums for k.d. Lang and Elton John) and Studio 4°C (Tekkonkinkreet, The Animatrix, Genius Party) called Project:13 has been announced. It will be a trilogy of five-minute animated music videos with the first part 'The Sound of Hope' slated for September with parts two 'Alice & the Robot' and three 'The Queen of Illumina' planned for December and March respectively. The project is seeking further funding through Kickstarter to complete the animation.
And finally Madman's Top 20 Anime Countdown has reached number one with Neon Genesis Evangelion taking out the top spot.
