France's Why Not Productions, Arrietty production partner Wild Bunch also on animated film

France's Le Figaro newspaper revealed on Tuesday that Studio Ghibli is co-producing an animated film titled The Red Turtle with the French film production and distribution company Wild Bunch. The Dutch animator and director Michael Dudok de Wit (The Monk and the Fish, Father & Daughter) is helming the project. According to Le Figaro, Pascal Caucheteux (Of Gods and Men, A Prophet) of Why Not Productions is producing the film.

Wild Bunch co-produced Studio Ghibli's 2010 anime film The Secret World of Arrietty. The company also distributed Park Chan-Wook's 2003 live-action film Oldboy, which was inspired by Garon Tsuchiya and Nobuaki Minegishi's manga of the same name.

Update: A line test video previously posted in this article is no longer watchable as it was removed from Vimeo per Michael Dudok de Wit's request.
