Film Star Jean Reno Returns as Doraemon in 6th Live-Action Ad

French film star Jean Reno (Léon: The Professional, Mission: Impossible, The Da Vinci Code) is back as the manga cat Doraemon in his sixth live-action commercial for Toyota. Like the five previous ads from Toyota Motor Corporation, the sixth ad depicts the characters of the classic children's manga Doraemon, two decades after they grow up. Satoshi Tsumabuki (Dororo, Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Smuggler) plays Doraemon's hapless owner Nobita, still without a driver's license.
In the new commercial, Nobita's longtime bully Gian (played by mixed martial artist Naoya Ogawa) now runs his own Gian's Supermarket. Nobita's wealthy friend Suneo (former NEWS band member Tomohisa Yamashita) comes to Nobita's rescue when he needs wheels, but they're not what Nobita expected. Fortunately, Doraemon has a "Small Light" in his handy fourth-dimensional pocket.
