Love Live! Idol TV Anime's Advance Promo Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo
School idol project's full anime series from Sunrise to premiere in early 2013

Lantis, the music label of the Japanese anime distributor Bandai Visual, began streaming an advance promotional video for the Love Live! anime series on Saturday. The video and the anime's official Twiiter account are announcing that the series will premiere early next year on television.

The "school idol project" is set at a school between Tokyo's Akihabara, Kanda, and Jinbochō neighborhoods. The school faces the danger of being "streamlined" out of existence, so nine of its female students decide to become idols to protect their school and boost attendance.

In 2010, the anime studio Sunrise, Lantis, and ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G Magazine launched Love Live! as a self-described "ultimate user-participation project" which lets its fans vote on the future of the fictional idols. A series of music CDs and animated music videos then followed. The members of the project announced this past February that an full anime series has been green-lit for next year.
