Madoka Magica's SHAFT Animates Fate/Extra CCC RPG's Opening

Kanon Wakeshima wrote, scored, sings theme song "Sakura Meikyū"

"Morii," the publicity person for the Fate/Extra CCC role-playing game, announced at the Machi Asobi Vol. 9 event in Tokushima that the studio SHAFT (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Nisemonogatari) is producing the opening anime for the game. The footage could not be shown at the event since SHAFT is still producing it.

Marvelous SQL had planned to release this RPG based on the Fate/stay night visual novel this past spring, but it has been delayed to this winter and then delayed again to February 21, 2013. Marvelous Entertainment already released the first Fate/Extra game for the PSP in 2010, and Aksys Games released the game in North America last November.

Fate/Extra CCC will feature the option of a male or female player character. The Servants Saber, Archer, Caster, and Gilgamesh, as well as an unrevealed "mysterious girl" character, will appear in it. Franchise regular Kinoko Nasu is writing the scenario as she did for the first Fate/Extra. The theme of the new game's scenario are "girl's feelings" and "eros," and the game will have more "volume" and voice-acting compared to the first one.

Kanon Wakeshima appeared at Machi Asobi to performing the full version of the game's theme song, "Sakura Meikyū" (Sakura Labyrinth). Not only is she singing the song, but she also wrote and scored it. The song's CD will go on sale on November 7, and dwango.jp is already offering it as a ringtone.

This game will come in two editions: a standard edition for 6,279 yen (about US$81.20), and a limited edition Type-Moon Virgin White Box for 10,479 yen (US$135.50). The Virgin White Box version will bundle a Saber Bride figma figure, a "visual works" illustration collection, and Sakura Tange's limited Saber character CD with three songs. People who order early will also receive the "Virgin Bride" booklet, and first-pressing editions will include four super-deformed Servant character stickers designed by wadarco.
