sola Artist Chaco Abeno Launches Angel + Blood Manga

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
New series in Asuka magazine follows students battling against enemy 'angels'

The December issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Asuka magazine began serialization on Chaco Abeno's A+B (Angel + Blood) manga on Wednesday. The "battle fantasy" series takes place in a university town by the open waters of Tokyo Bay. In the story, the enemies of mankind are known as "angels" and the school's students train to fight the angels.

Abeno previously worked on the manga adaptations of the multimedia project sola, AQUAPLUS' visual novel White Album, and her original series Welcome to Wakaba-soh. Broccoli Books licensed sola for North American release in 2007 and released the first volume before shutting down in 2008. Yen Press acquired the rights to Welcome to Wakaba-soh in 2008 and released both volumes of that series. Abeno also drew the manga adaptation of Gakuto Mikumo's Dantalian no Shoka light novel series.

The December issue of Asuka magazine also began serialization on Isuzu Shibata's (Your captive) Migawari Hakushaku to Himitsu no Nikki manga, which is based on Mimori Seike's Migawari Hakushaku light novel series. The same issue also launched Ritsu Aozaki's manga adaptation of Kei Mutsuki's Atama no Hime to Atama nashi Kishi light novel series.
