Kuroko's Basketball Threats Posted on 2ch Board Beforehand

Creator Fujimaki's alma maters threatened online before substances were found

A source in the Kuroko's Basketball threat letter investigation told Sankei News on Thursday that a post was made on the online 2channel (2ch) boards, hours before one of the threat letters with a liquid substance was discovered. Over 20 places linked to the Kuroko's Basketball manga creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki received threat letters with powder or liquid substances last month.

According to Sankei News' source, the following was posted on 2channel at about 1:30 p.m. on October 12: "I hate Tadatoshi Fujimaki, who is now a famous Sophia University alumnus. I wanted to take revenge on Fujimaki himself, but could not find his location. I had no other choice but to target here." At about 7:15 p.m. that same day, a female student discovered a container with liquid that smelled like sulfur at a gymnasium at Sophia University. Sankei News reported that Fujimaki had dropped out of the university.

A source in the investigation said there is a high possibility that the liquid sent to Sophia University could emit a lethal dose of hydrogen sulfide if vaporized.

The postings on 2channel added, "If you ask Fujimaki, you will know who I, the suspect, am. Toyama High School, the school where he went, brace yourself." That high school in Tokyo's Shinjuku ward received a threat letter with a white powder on October 15.

In a separate development, the threat letter mailed to MBS, the Osaka-based station that aired the Kuroko's Basketball anime, specifically warned it against airing a second season. The threat added, "I'll use fire, a knife, a gun … whatever I can get my hands on!"

Update: The mailed threats were postmarked from both Tokyo and Osaka.
