posted on by Andrew Osmond
TV rights to the condensed version of Dragon Ball Z were acquired by CSC Media.

The English-language website of the Toei Animation studio, which made the Dragon Ball Z anime series, posted the following announcement:

The English media group CSC Media just acquired the TV rights for 53 episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai. The English dubbed version should start airing this month in the UK.

No further specifics about the channel or timeslot were given. CSC Media, profiled on its website here, operates 16 U.K. channels on Sky Digital, Virgin Media and Freesat. They include Tiny Pop (for children aged 3-7), POP (for children aged 4-9) and Kix! (for boys aged 7-12).

Dragon Ball Z Kai is Toei Animation's condensed version of the Dragon Ball Z series. (The full Dragon Ball Z series is being released on DVD by Manga Entertainment.) The "Kai" edition runs 97 episodes in total, plus an extra DVD-only episode, compressed from the 291 episodes of Dragon Ball Z.
