Natsume Ono to End Historical Manga Tsuratsurawaraji

posted on by Egan Loo
Story about shōgun-era lord's life on the road between home and capital

The January issue of Kodansha's Monthly Morning two magazine announced on Wednesday that Natsume Ono will end her Tsuratsurawaraji ~Bizen Kumada-ke Sankin Emaki~ manga in the next issue on December 22.

The manga's story is set in Japan during the Edo period (1603-1868). To control his daimyō lords, the shōgun orders them to move back and forth from their provincial home and the capital, where they must spend half their time. The story follows the long journeys of the daimyō Kumada's family between their Okayama home in southwestern Japan and their second home in the capital.

Ono launched the manga in 2009, and Kodansha published the fourth book volume of the manga in August.

Viz Media publishes many of Ono's other titles in North America, including House of Five Leaves, Ristorante Paradiso, Not Simple, and La Quinta Camera - 5 Banme no Heya.
