Milky Holmes Alternative TWO Anime Special's Promo Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo
Alternative ONE & Alternative TWO spinoffs on Blu-ray/DVD on January 9

The official Niconico channel for the Detective Opera Milky Holmes franchise began streaming a promotional video for the Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Alternative TWO ~Kobayashi Opera to Kokū no Ōgarasu (Detective Opera Milky Holmes Alternative TWO: Opera Kobayashi and the Raven of the Empty Sky) television anime special. The video features "Kimi no Naka no Watashi," the ending theme song for the earlier Alternative ONE special.

Alternative TWO serves as a sequel to Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Alternative ONE -Kobayashi Opera to 5-mai no Kaiga- (Detective Opera Milky Holmes Alternative One: Opera Kobayashi and the Five Paintings). The spinoff specials are set in an alternate storyline in which the girl detectives do not lose the "Toys" that grant them special powers. They visit Opera Kobayashi in London, but as soon as they arrive, they are asked to solve a case of five paintings and confront the thief Moran.

The Tokyo MX TV station and Niconico will run Alternative TWO this winter, after an advance screening event on December 9. (The cast will provide a live commentary on the first special and perform a live drama reading and mini concert during the event.) Both Alternative ONE and Alternative TWO will then be released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on January 9.

The Blu-ray/DVD volume will have 46 minutes devoted to the specials, plus bonus video extras for a total runtime of over 70 minutes. The extras will include a digest video of the premium talk show at the first special's August 18 event, as well as preview and digest videos of the September 22 live concert in Kyoto. The limited first pressing of the volume will add eight Weiß Schwarz PR cards and original card sleeves for the 60-card Detective Opera Milky Holmes Alternative set.

Crunchyroll streamed the first Milky Holmes television anime series outside Japan, and Funimation and Nico Nico licensed the second series.
