Drug Sale Abetting Charges Filed Against 2ch Founder

The Japanese Metropolitan Police Department announced on Friday that it had filed charges against 2channel (2ch) message board founder and former administrator Hiroyuki Nishimura (age 36) for allegedly encouraging and backing the buying and selling of narcotic drugs. According to the police, he has not been cooperative in interviews in order to gather information.
According to Japan's cyber crime counter-measure department, the charges being filed against him are that he did not act against multiple posts that invited the buying and selling of illegal drugs. Also, last year on May 7, an unemployed man in his 50s reportedly said that Nishimura helped write the posts for the buying and selling of the narcotics. According to authorities, the posts were actually used for smuggling purposes, and the man was later given a jail sentence for his crimes.
The police say that 2channel is not complying with its investigation, and as such, 5,068 out of the 5,223 posts the police demanded be erased have been left as they are.
