Anime on Demand to Stream Maoyu and Tamako Market (Updated)

posted on by Andrew Osmond
First two free streams of new season announced.

Anime on Demand has confirmed on its twitter feed that it will stream MAOYU and Tamako Market in the new anime season. The site previously confirmed that all its streams for the new season will be free.)

MAOYU (right) is based on Mamare Touno's original novel series, centred around Yūsha (Hero), a fighter in a war that humans and demons have waged for 15 years. He enters the castle of Maō (Demon Queen), who proposes an alliance. Takeo Takahashi (Spice and Wolf, Yosuga no Sora, So, I Can't Play H!) is directing the anime at the studio ARMS. Touno began the story as an online novel on the 2channel forum before Enterbrain began publishing the series in 2010; it has had several manga adaptations.

Commenting on the fact that Crunchyroll is streaming MAOYU to Ireland but not to the UK, AoD described the situation as "an irregularity that probably won't happen in future seasons." ANN contacted AoD and was told that viewers in Ireland would 'theoretically' be able to watch MAOYU through both Crunchyroll and AoD.

Tamako Market is made by the main staff of K-ON!, including director Naoko Yamada. Aya Suzaki (Bakuman., Manyū Hiken-chō, To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness) will play the title heroine Tamako Kitashirakawa, a high-school freshman who is cheerful, spirited, and kind to others. She is the mochi-loving daughter of a mochi shopkeeper in the shopping district and a baton club member. just before midnight on New Year's Eve. The same video had debuted at the Comic Market (Comiket) 83 event in Tokyo this past weekend. The trailer below is streamed by Kyoto Animation.
