Monogatari 2nd Season to Run for 1/2 Year Starting in July

6 novel volumes to be covered in anime from Akiyuki Shinbo, SHAFT
The February issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine is announcing the cast and staff for the "second season" arc of the Monogatari series, titled Monogatari Series Second Season, on Thursday. The series will cover the material from six volumes of the original light novel series in two cours or half a year, as previously planned. The anime will begin airing in Japan this July.
The staff is as follows:
- Director: Akiyuki Shinbo
- Series Script Supervisor: Fuyashi Tou, Akiyuki Shinbo
- Character Design, Chief Animation Director: Akio Watanabe
- Music: Satoru Kousaki
- Sound Director: Yota Tsuruoka
- Animation Production: SHAFT
The cast remains unchanged from Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari:
- Hiroshi Kamiya as Koyomi Araragi
- Chiwa Saito as Hitagi Senjougahara
- Emiri Katō as Mayoi Hachikuji
- Eri Kitamura as Karen Araragi
- Kana Hanazawa as Nadeko Sengoku
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Suruga Kanbaru
- Takahiro Sakurai as Meme Oshino
- Yui Horie as Tsubasa Hanekawa
- Yuka Iguchi as Tsukihi Araragi
- Maaya Sakamoto as Shinobu Oshino
The anime adaptation of Nekomonogatari (Black), the last book in the "First Season," premiered last month.
