Queen's Blade's Vanquished Queens Anime Promo Streamed

2 30-minute Blu-ray Discs bundled with Premium Visual Books in March & May/June

Hobby Japan's official website for the Queen's Blade game and anime franchise began streaming a promotional video for the Vanquished Queens anime on December 28. Some of the footage is NSFW for some environments.

The illustrated short stories in the original 2011 Vanquished Queens visual book depict the defeats in battle of various Queen's Blade characters. The two 30-minute anime volumes will be bundled on Blu-ray Disc with Queen's Blade Premium Visual Book San in March and Queen's Blade Premium Visual Book Shi in May/June. Each Blu-ray Disc will also have a bonus anime.

Shin Itagaki (Basquash! , Ben-To, Devil May Cry) is directing the new GENCO production at Hoods Entertainment in cooperation with ARMS. Ryunosuke Kingetsu (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero, Queen's Blade: The Exiled Virgin, Samurai Girls) is writing the scripts, and Rin-Sin, Takayuki Noguchi, and Yukiko Ishibashi are credited with the character designs. Satoshi Isono and Shunryō Yamamura are serving as animation directors.

Like the original Vanquished Queens book, the anime is a new story and not a continuation of the earlier Queen's Blade television series projects.

The Queen's Blade franchise began with Hobby Japan's fantasy game books, which are Japanese spinoffs from Flying Buffalo's Lost Worlds game series. (In these games, players simulate turn-based fighting with books that each represent a character.) The Queen's Blade books already inspired three television anime series and several original video anime volumes.
