Kin-iro Mosaic Anime's Staff, 1st Key Visual Revealed

posted on by Egan Loo

The April issue of Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Max magazine revealed on Tuesday the first key visual for the Kin-iro Mosaic anime, as well as the anime's staff. Tensho (Rewrite's opening animation director, designs) will be directing the anime at Studio Gokumi (NAKAIMO - My Little Sister Is Among Them!, Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge) from scripts by Yuniko Ayana (Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl, Bakuman.). Kazuyuki Ueda (NAKAIMO - My Little Sister Is Among Them! chief animation director) will be handling the character designs.

The story of Yui Hara's original manga begins with Shinobu Ōmiya, a 15-year-old, seemingly "pure Japanese" girl who actually did a homestay in Great Britain. Even after coming back to Japan, she still misses her time overseas. One day, an air mail letter arrives from Alice, the girl in Shinobu's host family in Great Britain. The letter reads, "Shinobu, I'm coming to Japan!" The "Japanese/British girls' mixed comedy" follows the lives of Shinobu, Alice, and other girls from both Japan and Great Britain.

Hara launched the manga in Manga Time Kirara Max in 2010, and Houbunsha published the second compiled book volume in April. Tokyopop published Hara's The Witch of Artemis (Hoshi no Witch) in North America.
