Ghibli's Poppy Hill Blu-ray/DVD Listed in U.S.

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

According to Amazon listings, the Blu-ray Disc and DVD release of Goro Miyazaki and Ghibli's From Up On Poppy Hill film is slated in the U.S. for September 3 via Cinedigm. The film is listed in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and stand-alone DVD edition. The Blu-ray/DVD combo will retail for US$34.95, and the DVD edition will retail for US$29.95.

From Up On Poppy Hill opened in U.S. theaters on March 15 and has earned a total of US$897,113 as of May 12.

The film follows Umi (The Spiderwick Chronicles' Sarah Bolger) and Shun (Star Trek's Anton Yelchin) in a budding romance as they come together to save their school's clubhouse. Hayao Miyazaki, Goro's father, wrote the screenplay adaptation. GKIDS reported last June that it will release the film on home video; Cinedigm Entertainment Group is GKIDS' home video distributor.
