The official Twitter account for the movie adaptation of anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day announced on Thursday that Japanese rock band Galileo Galilei will be performing the movie's theme song. Galileo Galilei previously performed the the opening theme song, "Aoi Shiori," for the show, and will perform a new song, "Circle Game," for the movie. Fuji TV's late night Noitamina programming block posted a preview of the new song that also previews the new film.

Noitamina also announced on Thursday that the original anohana television anime will be rebroadcast on the block starting in July alongside the airing of Silver Spoon. The show fills the spot that Noitamina's previous commercial left unannounced last week.

Finally, the Japanese Blu-ray Disc box set of the television series will ship on August 21. The limited-edition set will come with a 52-page booklet and will also bundle video extras of the "anohana Fes." event and the "anohana Summer Festival ~Super Heiwa Busters' Amusement Party~" event that was held on August 5 last year. The box itself will feature a new image by original character designer Masayoshi Tanaka.

Noitamina also posted an announcement video for the show's reairing and for the boxset release date.

The original Spring 2011 television anime followed several childhood friends who try to reconnect in high school after drifting apart due to tragedy. The film will retell the anohana story from the character Menma's point of view. Tatsuyuki Nagai is returning to direct the film at A-1 Pictures with head writer Mari Okada and character designer Masayoshi Tanaka. The film will open on August 31.

NIS America released the television series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD last July in North America.
