Adaptation of Kuroha's manga to premiere on July 4

The media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it will stream the Kitakubu Katsudō Kiroku television anime series under the name Chronicles of the Going Home Club. Crunchyroll will stream the series starting on Thursday, July 4 at 3:30 p.m. EDT for members in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, France, the Caribbean, South America, and Central America.

The anime adapts Kuroha's schoolgirl manga of the same name. "Kitakubu" (literally, "go-home club") is Japanese slang for kids who go home instead of joining clubs, sports, or other afterschool activities. In one high school, there is a real "Kitakubu" of girls who do whatever they like. The president is a free spirit named Sakura, while Botan is the combative heir to a school of ancient martial arts. Claire happens to be the daughter of the head of the powerful Kokonoe conglomerate. Natsuki joins the club at the invitation of another freshman, Karin, but she is unprepared for the hijinks there.

Hikaru Sato (Bakuman. episode director) is directing the anime at studio Nomad (Kämpfer, Kyōran Kazoku Nikki). Takahiro Sasaki (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts animation director) is designing the characters, and Go Zappa (NAKAIMO - My Little Sister Is Among Them!, Koihime Musō) is supervising and writing the scripts. The idol group Otome Shintō is performing the opening theme song.

The show stars Miharu Kobayashi as Sakura, Sae Aiuchi as Botan, Ayaka Senbongi as Claire, Ibuki Kido as Natsuki, and Mitsuki Yūna as Karin. The show will premiere in Japan on July 4.
