Adaptation of Ryō Koshino's medical manga series to premiere on July 4

The media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Wednesday that it will stream the live-action drama adaptation of Ryō Koshino's Machiisha Jumbo!! manga under the name Town Doctor Jumbo!!. The website will stream the series starting on Saturday, July 6 at 2:00 a.m. EDT for viewers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Mexico, and South America.

Daisuke Maki (of the boy band EXILE) will play "Dr. Jumbo," the director of the Baba Clinic, and Shiori Kutsuna (Ran in Detective Conan: Kudo Shinichi e no Chōsenjō) will play Asuka, the nurse who is the daughter of the previous hospital director. Other cast members include Yō Yoshida, Yuko Fueki, and Toshinori Omi.

Machiisha Jumbo!! is currently serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Gendai magazine, and the seventh compiled volume shipped in May. The story follows the local hospital director "Dr. Jumbo," whose nickname comes from his unlikely appearance. Jumbo argues frequently with Asuka, but saves his patients with his great skill as a doctor.

The show will premiere in Japan on NTV on July 4.
