1st season based on Shin Araki's light novel series premiered in January

NTV's official website for the GJ Club television anime series revealed on Wednesday that a sequel has been greenlit. The announcement notes that more details will be coming soon.

The first 12-episode television anime series adapted Shin Araki's GJ Club (GJ-bu) moe light novel series. Araki launched the original light novel series as the "first four-panel novel" in 2010; each of the nine volumes contains 36 short stories about high school students, and each story is only four pages long.

Yoshiyuki Fujiwara (Blue Exorcist, Sword Art Online) directed the first anime at the studio Dogakobo (Yuruyuri). Hiro Shimono, Maaya Uchida, Yume Miyamoto, Suzuko Mimori and Chika Arakawa starred in the series.

The series premiered in Japan on January 9 and ran through March. Crunchyroll streamed the series in various countries outside of Japan as it aired.
