Danganronpa: Another Episode PS Vita Spinoff Game Announced

Game developer Spike Chunsoft unveiled a new spinoff game in the Danganronpa game series at Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia's press conference on Monday. The Zettai Zetsubō Shōjo Danganronpa: Another Episode (Absolute Despair Girl Danganronpa: Another Episode) video game will ship for the PlayStation Vita console. Sony showed an announcement trailer for the game during the press conference. The video first hints a "refreshing sports comedy" game that's "made of blood, sweat, and a bit of perversion," until series mascot Monokuma stops the promo, saying that this idea is ridiculous, and reveals the true new game.

The end of the video also features the words, "and also_3." In an interview with Enterbrain's Famitsu magazine, producer Yoshinori Terasawa said that he could not talk about future developments in the game franchise after Danganronpa 1 & 2 Reload, but he said that there is actually still more in the works for the series.

NIS America announced at Anime Expo in July that it will be releasing the PlayStation Vita port of the first Danganronpa game in North America and Europe early next year under the name Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. Danganronpa 1 & 2 Reload, the PlayStation Vita port of the Danganronpa 1 & 2 mystery action games, will be released in Japan on October 10.

The television anime adaptation of the first game premiered in July, and Funimation is streaming the series as it airs.
