Unbreakable Machine-Doll TV Anime's 3 New Promos Streamed

Hiro Shimono, Hitomi Harada, Megumi Takamoto star in October 7 “academy battle entertainment” anime

Media Factory began streaming three new promotional videos for the television anime adaptation of Reiji Kaitō's Unbreakable Machine-Doll (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai) light novel series on Tuesday. The first promotional video features the anime's opening song “Anicca” by Hitomi Harada (voice of heroine Yaya), and the protagonist Raishin Akabane (voiced by Hiro Shimono) is given a choice: “Die in this place now by freezing, or die being broken by Tenzen Akabane.”

In the second and third promotional videos (which are intended for screening at Japanese book stores), both Yaya (voiced by Hitomi Harada) and Charlotte Blue (voiced by Megumi Takamoto) describe the anime as “academy battle entertainment.”

Reprising their roles from the drama CD, Hiro Shimono will play Raishin Akabane, a boy puppeteer who travels from Japan to study at the highest institution for "Machinart" (the craft of making automatons). Hitomi Harada will play Yaya, Raishin's female automaton who accompanies him on his trip. Also reprising their roles are Megumi Takamoto as Charlotte Blue, Jouji Nakata as Sigmund, Kana Asumi as Frey, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Loki.

Kinji Yoshimoto (Queen's Blade: The Exiled Virgin, Genshiken 2) will be directing the anime at animation studio Lerche from scripts by Yuuko Kakihara (Persona 4 The Animation, Ebiten: Kōritsu Ebisugawa Kōkō Tenmon-Bu). Atsuko Watanabe (The Everyday Tales of a Cat God, Ebiten: Kōritsu Ebisugawa Kōkō Tenmon-Bu) will be handling the character designs, and GENCO will be producing the anime.

Kaito launched the light novel series with illustrations by LLO (Mushi-Uta, Oreshura) in 2009, and the 10th volume shipped in January. Hakaru Takagi launched a manga adaptation in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine in 2010.

The anime will premiere in Japan on October 7.
