Girls & Panzer Helps Ōarai Anglerfish Festival Draw Record 100,000

Annual event usually drew 30,000 until TV anime set in Ōarai aired
A record 100,000 visitors attended this year's Anglerfish Festival in Ōarai on Sunday. The annual festival usually hosts 30,000 visitors, but attendance jumped after the airing of the Girls und Panzer anime, which is set in Ōarai. Last year's attendance was about 60,000.
This year's festival featured a talk show which announced a PlayStation Vita game, more details on the "Kore ga Hontō no Anzio-sen Desu!" (This Is the Real Anzio Battle!) original video anime project, and related promotional campaigns.
