Pupipō! Horror Comedy Anime's 'Close Friends' Ad Streamed

Shiho Sasaki, Chisato Mori star in adaptation of Rensuke Oshikiri's manga that premiered on Friday

Anime studio AIC began streaming a promotional video on Wednesday to promote the Friday premiere of the horror comedy television anime Pupipō! In the "Those two are very close friends" video, the schoolgirl Wakaba Himeji and the pink creature Pō-chan say to each other: "Po-chan." "Wakaba-chan!" "Po-chan." "Wakaba-chan!" "Po-chan." "Wakaba-chan!" "Po-chan, aren't you so soft and cuddly?"

The original manga by Rensuke Oshikiri (Hi-Score Girl) centers around Wakaba Himeji, a fifth-grade girl who can see things others cannot. As a result, she is scared by her surroundings, keeps her distance from others, and lives a lonely life. One day, she meet a mysterious soft, pink creature that cries "Pupipō!" — and her life is changed from that day forward.
