Naruto/DBZ/One Piece/Kenshin Rivals Join J-Stars Victory Vs. Game

Madara Uchiha, Freeza, Akainu, Shishio are playable in March 19 PS3/Vita game

This year's eighth issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shueisha Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that rivals from the Naruto Shippūden, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Rurouni Kenshin series are joining the roster of Namco Bandai Games' J-Stars Victory Vs. "team battle action" video game. Specifically, Naruto Shippūden's Madara Uchiha, Dragon Ball Z's Freeza, One Piece's Akainu, and Rurouni Kenshin's Makoto Shishio are all playable characters.

The opening movie will assemble the various heroes together. The magazine teases that V Jump magazine will reveal more playable characters on Tuesday. In addition to the playable characters, the magazine also teases that certain other Jump characters (such as Naruto's Kakashi and Sakura) will appear in quests in the game's adventure mode.

Hironobu Kageyama, Akira Kushida, and Hiroshi Kitadani are singing the game's theme song "Fighting Stars." A free augmented-reality (AR) app lets you see the Jump heroes in your surroundings on the PS Vita.

The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita game will arrive on March 19. A regular copy of the PS3 version will cost 7,980 yen (about US$80), while a limited edition will cost 10,980 yen (about US$110). The normal edition of the PS Vita version will cost 6,980 yen, while a limited edition copy will retail for 9,980 yen (about US$100).

People who pre-order the game will receive the J-Stars Victory Book, a volume bound like a Jump Comics book and filled with information and visuals of Jump heroes over the years. For a limited time, a "Ani-Son Sound Edition" of the game will let players listen to 21 television anime theme songs in the game.
