Fist of the North Star Joins J-Stars Victory Vs. Game

Kenshirō & Raoh are playable characters in March 19 PS3/Vita game

This year's 11th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Fist of the North Star characters are joining the roster of Namco Bandai Games' J-Stars Victory Vs. "team battle action" video game. Specifically, the main lead Kenshirō and the oldest of the four Hokuto brothers, Raoh, are playable characters. Kenshirō can employ the Hokuto Shinken fighting style with his signature rapid-fire punching.

The game allows players to embark on different adventures with colorful events by riding sailing boats to travel the world. Players can collect "J Points" in battles and adventures, and then exchange them at the J Point Shop to enhance their characters or boats.

Hironobu Kageyama, Akira Kushida, and Hiroshi Kitadani are singing the game's theme song "Fighting Stars."

The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita game will arrive on March 19. A regular copy of the PS3 version will cost 7,980 yen (about US$80), while a limited edition will cost 10,980 yen (about US$110). The normal edition of the PS Vita version will cost 6,980 yen, while a limited edition copy will retail for 9,980 yen (about US$100). A free augmented-reality (AR) app lets you see the Jump heroes in your surroundings on the PS Vita.

People who pre-order the game will receive the J-Stars Victory Book, a volume bound like a Jump Comics book and filled with information and visuals of Jump heroes over the years. For a limited time, a "Ani-Son Sound Edition" of the game will let players listen to 21 television anime theme songs in the game.
